Leadership that helps you hold on to yourself

The Third Method was created for people who want to lead with more clarity, care, and integrity — without leaving themselves behind. This work is for emerging and evolving leaders who are trying to build something better while living and working inside systems that do not always reflect their values.

Why this work exists

I created The Third Method out of my own experience moving through leadership without a clear roadmap, and from years of watching thoughtful, values-driven people try to lead inside systems that did not support their humanity. Too often, leaders are asked to hold everything together, absorb what is not theirs, and keep performing even when the systems around them are misaligned.

I have seen how leadership can be shaped by fear, ego, grief, and pressure. I have also seen what becomes possible when people are supported in leading with more self-awareness, reflection, courage, and care. The Third Method exists to offer another path — one that helps people understand the systems they are in, stay connected to their values, and build ways of leading that feel more sustainable and true.

What I believe

I believe leadership is not just about strategy, performance, or authority. It is also about how we relate to ourselves, to each other, and to the systems we move through. I believe people bring wisdom from their histories, identities, communities, and lived experiences, and that this wisdom belongs in how we lead.

I believe we do not need to choose between honoring what came before and creating what comes next. We can keep what is wise, learn from what no longer works, and build new ways of leading that make more room for belonging, clarity, and transformation.

How I work

My work brings together reflection, systems awareness, design, and relational practice. Whether I am coaching one person, guiding a cohort, or facilitating a gathering, I create spaces where people can slow down, tell the truth, and move forward with more intention.

I work with people who are asking real questions: How do I lead without losing myself? How do I stay in integrity inside systems that do not always align with my values? How do I build something more humane, while still living in the realities of today?

Meet Jenny de la Hoz, aka Dr. J

Jenny, aka Dr. J, is an educator, coach, facilitator, and organizational leader who helps people lead with more clarity, care, and alignment. Through The Third Method, she works bilingually in English and Spanish and supports with emerging and evolving leaders who are trying to build something better while navigating systems that do not always reflect their values.

She was born in Colombia and grew up in the United States. With a background in education, multicultural learning, marine science, coastal resource management, leadership development, and organizational practice, Jenny brings a grounded and relational approach to coaching, facilitation, and systems change. Her work helps people understand the systems they move through, reconnect to their own wisdom, and lead in ways that feel more sustainable and true.

The Third Method grew out of years of watching thoughtful, values-driven people try to lead inside structures that often rewarded performance over integrity and compliance over reflection. Jenny created this work to offer another path. One that honors where people come from, values lived experience, and helps leaders build what comes next without losing themselves in the process.
